The 1st edition of the BUS & CAR trophies was launched this year in two publications: Bus&Car Connexion and Bus&Car Tourisme de Groupe. The aim of the event is to reward transport and group tourism professionals in 4 categories:
Best Carrier, Best Manufacturer, Best Group Service and Best Group Welcome.
It was in this last category (Best Group Reception) that the Cassis Tourist Office applied this year, with a detailed presentation of its multimodal reception platform at Les Gorguettes, managed by the Tourist Office’s group department, and its associated services.
The trophy for the best welcome for groups is awarded to a local authority (town, conurbation, department or region) that has implemented and developed a specific welcome policy for group tourism professionals and coach operators.
The trophy is awarded on the basis of four established criteria:
- innovation
- exemplarity
- quality of day-to-day relations with professionals
- growth in group business

Cassis has embraced group tourism and listened to the expectations of tourism professionals to meet the challenges of the coming years.
This reception platform guarantees smooth and simplified access, has reception facilities with a large number of tourist brochures, allows groups to be transferred to the town centre by small train shuttle for their greater comfort and ensures the well-being of drivers with a dedicated area. The aim is to provide a high-quality welcome from the moment they arrive in Cassis, to delight the many group customers, particularly cruise passengers on excursion.

On 5 December 2017, the trophy award ceremony took place on CroisiEurope’s Seine Princess in Paris, hosted by Bruno Courtin, deputy editor-in-chief of Bus & Car Tourisme de Groupe, under the patronage of Jacques Berlioz, publisher of Info6tm and in the presence of Christian Mantei director general of Atout France and chairman of the jury, accompanied by Jean-Baptiste Tréboul, editorial director.
At the ceremony, attended by almost 120 decision-makers, the Cassis Tourist Office was awarded 1st prize in the BUS & CAR 2017-2018 trophy in the “Best Group Reception” category for its multimodal reception platform at Les Gorguettes.
A very fine distinction for Cassis Tourist Office, which finishes the year on a high note with this prestigious award, especially as a few days earlier it was ranked 4th best Tourist Office website by the Trophées de la Communication out of a very large number of entries.
