Tips
- Wear good shoes (cobbled streets, relief)
- Avoid driving during the day in summer (difficult traffic & parking)
- Hire a bike to enjoy the Route des Crêtes in complete freedom
- Download useful maps and apps before you arrive
- 1. Is there a shuttle service between the Gorguettes car park, the town centre and the Calanques?
Yes, a shuttle bus runs from Les Gorguettes to the village centre (Casino stop) and to the Parc des Calanques (Le Bestouan stop).
- 2. Is it possible to get around Cassis using soft modes of transport?
Yes, Cassis encourages more environmentally-friendly forms of transport: electric mountain bike rides, electric scooters, tours of the Route des Crêtes, hybrid boats and electric boat hire are just some of the ways you can enjoy the area in a different way. Recharging points are available in some car parks.
- 3. Why is it advisable to plan ahead when travelling to Cassis?
Cassis is a village in an amphitheatre, between sea, port, creeks and hills. This configuration makes traffic and parking a sensitive issue during busy periods. Anticipating your arrival, using park-and-ride facilities and checking transport options will help you enjoy the village with greater peace of mind.
- 4. Where can I park easily in Cassis in high season?
The best idea is to use the Gorguettes park-and-ride site. It’s free, slightly out of the way, and you can take the shuttle bus to the centre of the village or to the Calanques area.
