Protection of personal data and RGPD

What is the RGPD

The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) is the European data protection regulation that replaces the EU Data Protection Directive (“Directive 95/46/EC”).The GDPR deals with the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data.In general terms, the Regulation sets out a number of data protection principles and requirements that must be respected when processing personal data.

The GDPR also created the European Data Protection Supervisor (“EDPS”), who ensures that data protection law is applied consistently across the EU and works to ensure effective cooperation between data protection authorities.

What are the implications of RGPD for organisations that process the personal data of EU citizens?

One of the key aspects of the GDPR is that it contributes to the harmonisation between EU Member States of the secure processing, use and exchange of personal data.Companies will need to continually demonstrate the security of the data they process and their compliance with the GDPR, by implementing and regularly monitoring robust technical and organisational measures and compliance policies.

The information collected by the voluntary communication of personal data on one of our forms, the submission of an electronic message, the subscription to our newsletter, the request for information via our online chat system or via any social network on which we have an account, is recorded in a computer file by the Tourist Office to facilitate exchanges with the company’s prospects and customers or any person who has requested information.

They are intended for any authorised employee of the Cassis Tourist Office likely to have a telephone or e-mail exchange with the persons concerned, in particular to respond to their request.

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which we hold the data, to meet your needs or to comply with our legal obligations.

Regulations concerning the sending of content and notices

The reviews published are genuine reviews from customers who have booked an activity or accommodation with the Office de Tourisme de Cassis or online on its website.

To encourage customers to submit their reviews, the Office de Tourisme de Cassis sends them an email containing a questionnaire to fill in about the activity and/or accommodation booked.

By completing this questionnaire, the customer represents and warrants that they own and maintain all rights, consents, approvals, authorisations and licences in relation to the content they provide to Cassis Tourist Office. Customer reviews are based on these questionnaires and are published by the Tourist Office on its website.

The Tourist Office publishes all reviews insofar as they comply with its content guidelines. A service provider may request the removal of a review concerning him, if it proves to be rude or harmful. The review will then be removed as quickly as possible.

Before publication, each review is checked by the Office de Tourisme de Cassis. It generally takes 24 to 48 hours for a review to appear on the Office de Tourisme de Cassis website. They are displayed chronologically and remain published indefinitely. No consideration will be given in exchange for posting a review. When an establishment or activity is removed from the website, all reviews concerning it are removed.
